About the Goal of Globelle Sound

Globelle Sound is a blog dedicated to sharing music from around the world with lyrics written in languages other than English. The part of the name “Globelle” comes from the combination of the English term “global” and “belle,” the French word for beautiful. Music is one of the most beautiful languages ever created and is truly a globally appreciated form of art. So why limit yourself completely to only music created in your own country and native language?

About the Music Posted at Globelle Sound

Globelle Sound wishes to break the stereotype that non-English music, especially from small countries and cultures, is all folksy, traditional songs that are meaningless to foreigners. Musicians all over the world have been creating their own variation of music similar to the catchy sounds most Americans enjoy today. The only barrier between a lot of artists and success in the west is the language their songs are sung in. Thus, the music posted here will mostly consist of modern-sounding Pop, Rock, and Alternative tunes.

This blog will most often be updated weekly, on Sundays or Saturdays, with two or three songs that I recommend from a specific country. For the convenience of all you listeners, all music will be shared through the posting of YouTube videos. If available, the official promotional videos for the songs will be linked to. In unavailable, a fan video, fan slideshow, still video, or some other video will be linked to. If any videos or links are dead or you find any incorrect information posted on this blog, please notify me in a comment.
